Gonna be honest here, I'm not very good at audio engineering (minus the basic foundations) for professional projects, I would send out the audio files to my Audio Engineer homies to be optimized, cleaned up and engineered.
It’s a whole process, one that you have to respect, for simply - audio is 50% of video.
But, the audio engineering workflow just got a whole lot faster.
One of Adobe's most underutilized tools (IMHO) is Adobe Podcast, and in this article, I'll present a quick way to use the tool and optimize it for your next video/audio project.
So, here comes Adobe Podcast
If you're working with an editing platform (Premiere Pro / Final Cut), this might be the fastest route:
Create a folder for your working files (Video + Audio) + Project files
Bring your audio/video files into your editing platform
Export Audio only MP3, 320kbps for highest quality
Bring audio file into Adobe Podcast→ Enhance Speech
Dial in your preference as needed (speech & background removal)
Drop files and let Adobe Podcast work it’s magic.
Bring your exported Adobe Audio file back into premiere
Layer it into A2 Track
Mute the A1 Track
Here is a sample of what it sounds like with/without Adobe Podcast (from my recent podcast)
