October Recap
A mountain sized update :)
Hi Friends!
How y’all doing?
It’s been a while since I’ve done a monthly recap. I apologize for all the AI vibe-coding and building content, when I get into something, I tend to get a little tooooo obsessive.
October moved incredibly fast and intense. Things got a bit hectic on the family side, but like all things, whether you feel stuck, stagnant, or weighed down, face it head on, take a step forward, and keep going - everything will always work out in the end if you just keep swimming.
November feels like it’s going to be a big month. lots of shifts coming.
For me, winter is usually when I speed up; something about the cold, the holidays and coming end of year just pushes me to go harder and faster.
Back in June, I mentioned being in the market for a J-O-B in the video/producing space. Three months later, I’m looking for PM roles and junior coding, wild how much can change in just a few months when you learn new skills.
If you see an opportunity you’d think I would be able to help with, please holler at ya boy.
Mountain-Sized Life Update:
Maria and I have moved up to the mountains of Mt. Charleston (about 45 minutes north of Las Vegas) for the next few months.
For those who don’t know, where we are is roughly 8,500 feet in elevation, with the peak reaching 11,000. It’s chilly, really chilly. high 30s to 40s right now with snow coming in a few weeks.
We’re house-sitting for the owners, taking care of their chickens and their amazingly sweet dog, Maia, until early January (we might stay longer, hehe).
The temperature difference between the city and the mountains is about 25–30 degrees, bet y’all didn’t think it snows in Vegas right?

Tech Update:
Earlier in October, I started building a visual food app for Dim Sum (Chinese breakfast tapas).
As of today (November 1st), it has around 56 users, with little to no marketing!
For version 2, we’re adding a few features:
Pronunciations for each dish, tap to hear the audio
“Dim Sum Near You” - location-based listings so you can find nearby spots
We’re taking sponsors for Let’s Get Dim Sum — if you’re interested, reach out anytime <3
Lets Get Dimsum is live on the iOS app store
Proudwork:
Proudwork is doing well, with about 50 users. I took my foot off the gas in October while focusing on Let’s Get Dim Sum, but I’m back at it now, adding a final feature that’s been driving me crazy, native video upload which is really the last piece of the puzzle.
Third App (Shelved for Now):
I started another app — originally a minimal stat-tracking tool for NBA games so I wouldn’t have to check ESPN/NBA sites all the time. But after a few hours of R&D, I realized licensing fees would cost five figures or more, so I shelved it for now.
Business & Filming Work:
I know this newsletter has turned into an “AI + what-I’m-building” blog lately, but I still actively run my business: www.indiemarchfilm.media It’s been fairly slow recently, so improving SEO/GEO is high on my to-do list.
This month, we’ll be on site covering the SEMA automotive show in Las Vegas for Revv ADAS, a New York–based client. Be on the lookout for behind-the-scenes coverage from that shoot!
Since returning to the States in September, I’ve shot about three weddings, two events, and wrapped up an edit for a local tech company in Las Vegas.
Earlier this week, I migrated a lot of our video content to Bunny.net for hosting — Squarespace was too limited without a major upgrade.
I’m sure I’ll have some other silly app ideas soon that I’ll write about. Until then, I’m always active on Twitter and Instagram if y’all ever want to connect.
BTW, have we met yet?
